Non-Motor Incident Claim

Your Property – Material Damage or Loss  

Steps to take:

  • Notify our Claims Department immediately at Tel: 6252 8888 to inform us of the nature and extent of loss/damage, followed by a written claim submission.
  • Take all steps to minimise the extent of the loss/damage.
  • Take photographs of the damage.
  • If urgent repairs are necessary, use discretion (e.g. what would you do if you are not insured and it was at your own cost).
  • Preserve affected parts and make them available for inspection by the insurance company.
  • Take down all information and documentary evidence for the insurance company.
  • Lodge a police report in cases of loss/damage due to theft/burglary.
  • Please be mindful that repairs/replacements can only be carried out with the consent of insurance company.
Third Party/Public Liability (Property Damage/Bodily Injury) Insurance Claim  

Steps to take:

  • Do not admit liability in case you prejudice your insurance company’s rights, which means your insurance company can deny your coverage.
  • Likewise, you must not accept any offer to settle if you intend to involve your insurance company.
  • Notify our Claim Department immediately at Tel: 6252 8888 to inform us of the nature and extent of loss/damage, followed by a written claim submission.
  • Should the third party be insured, they should contact their insurance company for guidance.
  • If the third party is not insured, ask them to submit a brief statement of their demand – containing reference to the time, date, situation and description of the incident, in addition to the schedule of their losses/damage claimed.
  • Forward all correspondence from third parties (demands, prosecutions or otherwise) to our Claims Department at claim@timesinsurance.com.sg without delay.

Work Injury Compensation Insurance Claim  

The Work Injury Compensation Insurance policy covers you (the Employer) for compensation to employees for occupation diseases, injuries or death caused by accidents arising out of and in the course of employment under the:

  1. Work Injury Compensation Act (WICA); and
  2. Common Law

Steps to take:

  • Notify our Claims Department immediately at Tel: 6252 8888 or claim@timesinsurance.com.sg, giving a description of circumstances leading to the accident, injured employee’s particulars and the nature and extent of injury.
  • Notify the police or the proper authority where applicable.
  • Submit the accident report to the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) by using the I-report system on MOM’s website at mom.gov.sg/iReport within 10 days of the following occurrences:
    • Accident resulting in employee’s death
    • Accident resulting in incapacity that renders the employee unfit for work (given medical / hospitalisation leave or light duties)
    • Employee contracting an occupational disease

Failure to report a work-related accident to MOM is an offence. It carries a fine of up to $5,000 for a first time offence, and up to $10,000 and/or a jail term of up to six months for subsequent offences.

Important:

  • You are to immediately forward all letters, writs of summons or another correspondence that you have received from the employee or his/her lawyer or representative to us. You MUST NOT admit liability in any manner.

Foreign Worker Medical Insurance Claim  
  • Notify our Claims Department at Tel: 6252 8888 or claim@timesinsurance.com.sg immediately to provide the employee’s particulars and the nature of the hospitalisation and/or surgery.
  • A Hospital & Surgical Claim Form will be sent to you for completion.
  • Submit the duly completed claim form with the necessary supporting documents:
    • Copy of the employee’s S-Pass / Work Permit card
    • Copy of Inpatient Discharge Summary
    • Original final and itemised hospital bills from the hospital for admission &/or surgery
    • All other original hospital bills where appropriate
  • Depending on the circumstances surrounding each claim, the insurance company may require further supporting documents from you. Our Claims Department is at hand to guide you throughout the entire claims process.
